Welcome
My name is Markus Esch, I am a post-doctoral researcher in the field of distributed systems at the Fraunhofer Institute for Communication, Information Processing and Ergonomics (FKIE).
My main research interests are in the field of large-scale distributed computer systems. I am especially focusing on statistically-structured peer-to-peer networks and socio-aware distributed communication systems. For this purpose I am studying interdisciplinary approaches incorporating complex systems science and computer science.
In order to foster research on social aspects in information and communication systems I am co-organizing the SocioAware workshop that has been held for the first time at the 5th IEEE International Conference on Self-Adaptive and Self-Organizing Systems (SaSo) in 2011. The 2013 edition of this workshop will also be held at the SaSo conference in September this year.
